To make sure that I stuck to my resolution to visit one new place a month, Chris and I went for a walk to the neighbouring town of Knaresborough. Here is our journey:
- This is us on our way out the door
- we had to cross the tracks…
- I had to run across the tracks when it was safe
- then Chris ran across the tracks
- a view from across the tracks – Knaresborough’s Roman Catholic Church in the distance
- and then there was mud….
- we had to be very careful to not fall in…
- phewf!
- we were happy that we crossed the first mud patch
- but we got caught in the second one.. and got a bit muddy
- Chris was not happy to be muddy
- we turned around and walked to the main road and walked along it to Knaresborough
- a view across one of the bridges
- the remains of Knaresborough castle
- another bridge.. the one we were standing on before
- a bird on the castle grounds
- painted dudes talking to each other!
- the Catholic church that we saw from afar.. before we got stuck in the mud
- Chris in front of the church.. being a photographer
- on our way back from Knaresborough, we took another path and did not see this sign.. leading us in the right direction
- we went that way…
- instead of that way…
- apparently you have to be thin to walk in North Yorkshire..
- if you don’t fit.. you don’t cross
- but we found our way to the path that leads to our house.. yay!
- I’m happy
- um.. he looks confused… or something…
- pooped once we got home after walking for 4 hours… 22000 steps.. 12kms … wowsers
- that was our journey!

That last photo just KILLS me.
